Krista Wilford, an Ambrose School Junior, addressed a crowd of over 800 educators at the National ACCS conference in Durham, North Carolina on June 18th. Krista won the “runner up” award in the ACCS National Chrysostom Oratory competition earlier this year. This contest is held among accredited ACCS schools from around the country. Its purpose is to inspire other ACCS educators and students to pursue rhetorical excellence. The winner, Anna Kitchin from Rockbridge Academy in Maryland also gave her speech on the 18th. Krista also won a $500 scholarship, in addition to her trip to North Carolina. Krista’s speech was on the value of Poetry in Christian culture. We hope to make the audio of her speech available soon.
