sports_around_crestThe Ambrose School accepts no Federal or State money.  Our accrediting agency (the ACCS) shares this value of independence from beaurocratic intervention and therefore we are not obligated to follow restrictive educational requirements.  We simply demonstrate excellence in our mission.  This focus allows us to take students further without diverting resources to Individual Education Programs or other Federal or State mandates.   Parents appreciate this because it means that the average to above average student will be challenged and grow toward excellence in our program.

Having said this, we want able students to succeed at our school.  For some types of learning disabilities, we offer special programs which are paid for by the parent (see PACE+).  Our primary goal is to assist parents in the education of their children, not to assume that responsibility.  We make every effort to offer services as economically as possible.  We do consider specialized adaptations through our Parent Directed Educational Plan.  When we believe an adaptation can be made for a student without adversely impacting the teacher’s resources for the class as a whole, and when we believe a plan, if followed, will result in educational success within a defined timeline, we will make accomodations. 

While we do serve families with students diagnosed with ADD, ADHD, and Aspergers Syndrome, we do not provide the type of accomodations available at other schools.  If the student can be accomodated without impacting our teachers or classroom environment, we will make minor adjustments.  We are not able to provide resource-intensive services for these students due to our educational model.

We will allow attendance to anyone who can meet our academic entrance and family requirements.
